Monroe, Georgia was a cotton town. Textile workers lived in tiny cottages across the street from work, decades before Google had the "new" idea of a corporate campus.
Work was life, and life was hard. For years. locals didn't want to be reminded of that time. But now the cotton mills are antique malls. And the need for affordable housing makes the mill houses desirable. So we got to work. Uninsulated mill homes are now up to code. Storefronts have become lofts and offices. Unlivable spaces have become havens. It's what we do.
